Scenthound, the canine grooming brand franchising since 2019, has announced plans to open 35 new locations throughout this year, and also sign agreements to schedule over 100 new units before the year’s end.
With seven locations currently open and a further 29 currently in development, Scenthound will open eight new sites in this year’s first quarter; primarily in metropolitan areas of major cities like Atlanta, Las Vegas, Miami, and Raleigh.
Despite its modest footprint, the brand maintained a successful 2020 with all of its stores remaining open for the duration of the year.
“With health at the forefront of everyone’s minds this year, our members and new franchisees understand that these values apply to dogs, too,” said CEO Tim Vogel. “We have done so well in 2020 because grooming is something that every dog needs, and not even a pandemic can stop that. Our wellness-centered approach builds loyal customers who can feel the difference in their happier, healthier dogs.”
Touting a ‘recession-proof’ model, Scenthound focuses on five core areas of canine wellness: skin, coat, ears, nails, and teeth. The brand was founded in 2015 after Tim Vogel spent more than a decade running both mobile grooming businesses and local grooming shops, and saw that the booming pet industry lacked a proper education surrounding dog grooming.
“There are 90 million dogs in the United States, but the grooming market has not evolved to meet all of the needs of the canine population,” said Vogel. “Scenthound is the solution to the problems the industry is facing. With each new Scenter that opens, we are able to continue to remove barriers so that people can love and connect with their dogs every day.”
