Franchising & Licensing Asia (FLAsia) 2018 opens its doors on 18 Oct, welcoming more than 200 brands from 17 countries and regions in Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, as well as the United Kingdom.
Running for three days till 20 Oct at Hall B of the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, FLAsia 2018 is presented by Franchising and Licensing Association (FLA) Singapore and organised by BizLink Exhibition Services Pte Ltd.
Igniting the spirit of entrepreneurship and globalisation
Now in its 13th run, FLAsia continues to bring together the franchising and licensing community, providing an array of franchise opportunities to contribute to a stronger entrepreneurship environment and economic output for Singapore and the region.

Meeting the changing needs of savvy entrepreneurs
Mr Chua Wee Phong, Executive Vice-President, Circulation, SPH and Executive Director of BizLink Exhibition Services, said: “Growing numbers of entrepreneurs and potential investors are seeking these non-traditional franchise concepts that have the potential to grow with technology.”
This is evidenced by the results of the FLAsia 2017 Visitor Survey where visitors indicated their strong interest in business concepts that break out of the usual Food & Beverage, Education, and Health & Fitness chains.
One such exhibitor is Globbing (Booth B13), an international shopping and shipping platform and solutions provider with warehouses in the United States, United Kingdom, China, Germany, and Russia.
Participating for the first time in FLAsia, Third Sense (Booth F02) joins the Europe Pavilion to promote a unique channel of customer attraction – scent marketing. The exhibiting team indicates that they are “confident that such an experience (at FLAsia) will be useful for the development of our company and companies of new partners”.
Kalms (Booth C13) with 53 years in the gifting industry, branches out to automated retailing as a means to lower real-estate and labour costs, as well as to stay technologically competitive to “future-proof”.
Educational Conference, Franchising & Licensing Clinics
This year, FLAsia will be introducing free 30 minute one-to-one consultations by experienced local business and franchise consultancy firms, as well as IP ValueLab, the enterprise engagement arm of Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), for visitors via the Franchising & Licensing Clinics.
Visitors can get free advice, assistance and connections to local experts and resources on franchising, licensing, and intellectual property (IP) strategies during these sessions.
Clinic sessions are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis.
FLAsia 2018 also features an Educational Conference where visitors can gain better knowledge on IP and legal aspects of franchising, and pick up tips and tricks from the success stories of FLAsia’s exhibitors. All visitors are requested to be in business shirts or collared t-shirts, paired with appropriate long pants. Jackets are not necessary. Dresses, skirts or trousers are recommended for ladies.
