As one of the several hands-on education franchises available under the Helen Doron Educational Group banner, MathRiders was created with a simple understanding in mind: children are born mathematicians, and it’s vital to nurture this natural skill to allow them to make the most of their unique abilities.
Consequently, founder and CEO, Helen Doron, introduced the MathRiders brand as an innovative and unique approach to teaching maths. By turning learning into real-life experiences, MathRiders makes maths fun, interactive, and effortless; bringing movement, music, puzzles, and activities into the classroom.
“Maths tables, memorization, and drills – many of us can recall that this was how we learned maths,” says Helen Doron.
BUILDING LEADERSHIP AND CONFIDENCE
Through the engaging activities delivered by MathRiders, students hone their natural ability to excel at maths and begin to recognize mathematical models in their everyday lives. However, the program transcends maths and instills lifelong skills in all students who take part. This enduring appeal is thanks to the six pillars that the MathRiders program is built upon:
+ Appreciation. The beauty, patterns, and logic of maths all around us.
+ Another way to understand the world. Maths isn’t only formulae and equations.
+ Encouragement. Students are encouraged to develop their own ideas and problem-solving skills.
+ Partnership. Working with their teachers and peer group, students become part of a supportive team to reinforce classroom learning at home.
+ Personalized assessments. Each student receives level-appropriate individual assessments, conducted by a certified MathRiders teacher. These help to track student progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and tailor future planning.
+ Leadership skills. By building leadership skills through experiential learning and presenting MathRiders ideas to fellow classmates, the brand transforms two-dimensional concepts into three-dimensional experiences.
The classroom learning environment presented by MathRiders was developed with an understanding of the advantages of both individual attention, and group learning. As such, all classes are comprised of four to eight children, which creates a perfect setting for dynamic learning; it is small enough for personalized attention, and large enough for group activities.
To cater to all age groups and abilities, three age-appropriate courses of the MathRiders program are available. All levels feature innovative materials, stories, songs, props/teaching aids, fun, and systematic teacher guides:
MathRiders Starters (Ages two to four)
In this level, consisting of two courses, children learn to find mathematics in everyday life, and explore and engage in activities as a way to learn mathematical concepts and skills. They are encouraged to express themselves mathematically and with self-confidence.
MathRiders Junior (Ages four to 11)
With MathRiders Junior, comprised of six courses, students can build strong mathematical foundations that will serve them for lifelong learning. They use hands-on learning, in which real-life experiences are translated into the classroom via mathematical concepts.
MathRiders Advanced (Ages 11 to 19)
Lessons are conducted in small groups, closing knowledge gaps and tailored to each student’s individual needs. Problem-solving techniques and self-exploration of mathematical rules are taught to enhance real maths understanding.
A CUSTOMIZABLE OPPORTUNITY
All courses can be taught in English or the franchisee’s local language, and the MathRiders concept has been created in a way that allows it to be flexible to the franchisee’s home country requirements; both the needs of consumers within their market, but also the specific national mathematic requirements established by schools within the country.
“Franchisees are provided with everything they need for a full program for every age group, with ongoing training for teachers, and full support on every level”
Additionally, all franchisees are supported by the developed Helen Doron Educational Group mentorship system. This includes professional training courses, marketing resources, and ongoing guidance and consultation; including a dedicated account manager.
MATHRIDERS SUCCESS IN POLAND
The success of the MathRiders franchise concept has been proven the world over. In Poland, for example, there are currently 48 MathRiders Learning Centers with nearly 8,000 students – a figure expanding all the time.
“The reason that MathRiders is so successful in Poland is due to the effective methodology which makes learning maths fun, compared to the ineffective way it is taught in schools,” says Małgorzata Grymuza, national franchisee for MathRiders Poland. “Franchisees are provided with everything they need for a full program for every age group, with ongoing training for teachers, and full support on every level. Most of our leads are from happy parents recommending MathRiders to their friends, as their children do much better at school and are no longer afraid of maths, which is very satisfying to us.”
