Edible now providing fresh vegetables as part of fresh produce boxes
Just over three weeks ago, Edible prioritized delivery by removing same-day delivery fees, and began offering fresh fruit and produce where available. Now, the sweet treat franchise is continuing its push to bring products to customers by offering fresh vegetables alongside its standard offering of fresh fruit produce boxes and numerous other delivery bundles.
“Soon after we introduced our fresh fruit produce boxes, the new product quickly rose to our top seller, reinforcing that this type of delivery is something our customers want and need more than ever right now,” said Edible president and COO, Cheikh Mboup. “By expanding our delivery options during this unprecedented time, we’re reminding customers that our priority is providing healthy and convenient solutions for fresh foods in high demand while they remain in their homes.”
Best Life Brands appoints J.J. Sorrenti as new CEO
Best Life Brands, LLC, the parent company of ComForCare, At Your Side, CarePatrol, and Blue Moon Estate Sales, has named J.J. Sorrenti as its new CEO. Sorrenti will oversee the growth of all of Best Life Brands’ franchises, across the nearly 400 locations the group manages throughout the U.S. and Canada.
“J.J. brings superb credentials and skills to further the Best Life Brands organization,” said Mark Eblin, chairman of the board of Best Life Brands. “We’re looking forward to leveraging his diverse experience as we continue to grow our suite of companies that serve seniors and their families.”
Yum China acquires controlling interest in Huang Ji Huang
Yum China Holdings, Inc.‘s newly-acquired controlling interest in the casual-dining specializing Huang Ji Huang group, adds brands like Huang Ji Huang, a simmer pot concept, and emerging fast-food franchise San Fen Bao, to its portfolio.
Following the acquisition, Yum China will establish a ‘Chinese dining business unit’ comprising three core Chinese dining brands: Little Sheep, East Dawning, and Huang Ji Huang. The company aims to gain a stronger foothold and further know-how in the Chinese dining space.
Wingstop provides an update in light of COVID-19
Wingstop Inc., the international wings franchise with over 1,400 locations open worldwide, provided an update on its current position in light of the ongoing coronavirus crisis. As a part of the update, Charlie Morrison, chairman and CEO of the brand, acknowledged the efforts of the frontline workers keeping the business afloat in tricky times.
“As I reflect on these unprecedented times, I’d like to thank the thousands of team members working in Wingstop restaurants for their continued commitment to serving our guests and our franchisees, whom we affectionately call our brand partners, as we navigate this difficult situation,” said Morrison. “Several weeks ago, Wingstop, anchored in our core values, began our journey of navigating the ever-changing COVID-19 crisis. Our core values of being authentic, service-minded, and entrepreneurial, or what we refer to as The Wingstop Way, have guided our response these past few weeks and will continue to guide our approach in the future.”
The update also detailed how the Global Franchise Award-winning brand is implementing a restaurant team member compensation incentive as its company-owned restaurants, that could provide as much as an additional $150 to full-time team members each week.
Brad Sugars releases free 10-day training program
Brad Sugars, the founder and CEO of ActionCOACH, and a recent guest on the Global Franchise Podcast, recently released his free 10-day, five-hour video training program aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and franchises through tough times. The series, titled ‘How to Survive & Thrive the Economic Crisis’, utilizes Brad’s experience of prevailing in the face of adversity, as he has previously run companies throughout four economic downturns.
