Stepping into its third year, the 2017 edition of HKTDC Hong Kong International Franchising Show will be held on 6-8 December. The one-of-its-kind franchising event is organised by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), a statutory body dedicated to promoting Hong Kong trade, the HKTDC’s mission is to explore opportunities for Hong Kong companies, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and connect them with business partners around the world. It was in order to assist the development of franchise business that the show was organised for the first time in 2015.
This exciting event features a wide range of local and foreign franchise opportunities, consulting and supporting services, and provides a platform where franchisors and prospective franchisees can meet and explore win-win business collaborations.
Last year, organised side-by-side with HKTDC World SME Expo, the show attracted 119 exhibitors, showcasing brands from a variety of sectors such as food and beverage, retail, education, health & beauty, and other personal and business services in three thematic zones: ‘Catering’, ‘Non-Catering’ and ‘International’. Over 11,000 attendees from 50 countries and regions are attracted to this important three-day event. Alongside from the exhibition itself, visitors can also participate in a wealth of forum and seminars, brand briefing sessions, one-on-one business matching and other networking events. This year a brand new seminar series “Franchise for the Wise” will be organized. At such events, show visitors can obtain the latest market trends and developments from key players in the industry, and expand business connections with franchising companies from around the world.
New to this year, the show will open for public on its last day (8 December). Visitors can take this opportunity to get in touch with the quality services / products and business models from the franchisors directly, glean first hand information and explore business cooperation.

At the last HKTDC Hong Kong International Franchising Show we met with investors and confirmed a number of deals. Since then, we have partnered with a Hong Kong coffee shop and established a new brand using the franchising model. In last August, we opened the first shop in Hong Kong and are planning to open two to three more shops in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China in the last half year of 2017.”
