China Franchise Expo is now mounted on five sites in China, ensuring that exhibiting brands are appraised by a huge audience of potential investors
There are franchise shows – and then there is China Franchise Expo. This enormous franchise show is so large that it is being held on five different sites in 2018 alone. This communicates the message of franchising to a vast audience. It also means that brands have the potential of establishing themselves – and in some cases opening new markets – in regions beyond Beijing. China Franchise Expo is a well-established event, too; having been held for the last 18 years.
Show dates and locations
2018 will see China Franchise Expo open its doors to expectant crowds at Wuhan (March 24-26), Beijing (May 4-6), Guangzhou (May 23-25), Shanghai (Aug 30-Sept 1) and Nanjing (Nov 23-25).
More than 40 expos have been successfully mounted since the concept’s inception in 1999; CFE has attracted thousands of franchisors and to date, has attracted 4,000 brands. By 2017, the total show space at CFE had reached 80,000 sqm, and such has been the success of shows held in Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu, that CFE has added three new locations (Guangzhou, Chongqing and Wuhan), in order to enlarge its sphere of influence.
Last year’s Shanghai show broke several records. Duringthe three-day expo, CFE attracted nearly 25,000 visitors, 50% more than the year before. Over 400 franchising brands exhibited at the show, both local domestic brands, and many international ones from the United States, Spain, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore among other places. Like the roster of shows scheduled for 2018, the Shanghai show offered much more than exhibiting franchises.
Visitors to these shows will find all they need to round-out their knowledge of franchising, because besides the expo itself, CFE organizes various activities for visitors, brands and prospective investors. For investors, CFE organises a training camp to teach franchising theories and management skills; for brands and companies, CFE has communication salons and seminars to exchange experiences and thoughts.
Needless to say, these shows offer fantastic opportunities for networking with people used to trading successfully in China and for gaining a real understanding of the Chinese market.
