Jani-King entered the commercial cleaning franchise business early and so has set the standards which others follow. Master licenses for territories worldwide are available now

Founded in 1969, Jani-King has long been admired as a leader in the commercial cleaning franchise industry. While there are larger traditional cleaning companies in business, no other franchisor in the office cleaning/janitorial industry has more support offices around the world than The King of Clean. Today, Jani-King corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas supports 120 regional offices in 10 countries. All but 19 of those offices are owned by master franchisees, many of whom own multiple territories, a true testament to the strength of Jani-King’s system.

But it’s not just the proven procedures, operational support and overall experience of Jani-King that has made the company a terrific business opportunity for entrepreneurs. The commercial cleaning industry is a $100+ billion dollar industry that’s steadily growing. In fact, the janitorial services field is expected to see long-term growth of both customers and workers as more facilities create more opportunity.

When did Jani King begin franchising, and why?

Realizing the potential of the commercial cleaning industry early on, Jani-King began franchising in 1974. Jani-King’s founder transformed a challenging industry with the concept that a business owner, more so than an employee, would provide greater service because they had a vested interest. Results were successful and immediate. Jani-King quickly grew from one city to another through franchisees that connected with customers and delivered a better cleaning service. By 1986, Jani-King had expanded outside of the U.S., granting its first international master franchise rights in Canada.

How successful has franchising been for Jani King?

The reason the commercial cleaning franchise industry is popular is a direct result of Jani-King’s success early on. Jani-King was the first to introduce franchise opportunities in the commercial cleaning space, and since then the company has worked hard to remain steps ahead of the competition. Today, Jani-King executives continue to work closely with the International Franchise Association and other major franchise organizations to protect and grow franchising across the globe.

Why should I master franchise with Jani King?

While there are hundreds of factors as to why Jani-King is the best opportunity but the answer to this question doesn’t have to be complicated. Simply put, Jani-King has decades of experience in the commercial cleaning and franchise industry. This means that new master franchisees can step in with very little experience and have Jani-King’s support and systems at their fingertips. More than 40% of Jani-King’s master franchisees have invested in multiple regions; some have purchased the rights to entire countries. Our master franchisees work together, share best practices and are committed to upholding Jani-King brand standards. They do all of this because of the expert support, proven systems and limitless opportunity of Jani-King’s program.

What are your terms?

Master franchise investors are granted an exclusive 10-year agreement (renewable multiple times) to operate in a defined territory. This franchise business opportunity gives the master franchisee the ability to establish a regional office that sells individual Jani-King unit franchises, train the unit franchises, and secure cleaning contracts for unit franchises to service.

What territories are offered?

A full list is available on our website at www.janiking.com/GF. Jani-King exclusive territories are available throughout Europe, Asia, Middle East, and more. A master franchise will operate in a specific metropolitan area or entire country depending on the license agreement.

What makes these territories ideal for franchising Jani-King?

There is opportunity in every major city for a Jani-King master franchise owner because of the vast amount of commercial buildings that are in demand of regularly-scheduled and contracted services. Jani-King’s most successful master franchisees may only have 5% of the total commercial buildings in their market under contract. There is enormous potential to gain new customers every single day, it’s why we keep growing. Whether it’s a newly-constructed building or a customer who is in need of a better cleaning service, the opportunity to build your business in the territory of your choice is unmatched.

What are you looking for in an ideal master franchisee?

Jani-King carefully selects its partners because, even though you have your own territory, everyone associated with Jani-King is an ambassador of the brand. Master franchise candidates are expected to have business management experience as they will be responsible for an office staff and growing their territory, but commercial cleaning experience is not required. Jani-King has the training, tools and guidance to support committed entrepreneurs.
